Meet Jonell Elder
The scent of essential oils have been part of my life since I was a child. Of course I had no idea that I was breathing essential oils, all I knew was I loved the smell of flowers and trees. When I was growing up as an adolescent, I lived next to my grandparents. My grandfather had a beautiful rose garden. I loved the roses and delighted in their beauty and their aroma. At a young age I would try to "squeeze" the scent out of the rose pedals. I never did have much success, but my fingers sure smelled good. I did not realize that someday I would be so passionate about essential oils. I came to find out that 5,000 pounds of rose pedals makes 1 cup of Rose oil!! No wonder I was unable to get any oil out of a single rose pedal.
In 1996, I was introduced to Young Living Essential Oils when a friend offered me Lavender oil for a cut I had. I loved the smell and also how the oil soothed the irritation that I had from the cut. My friend suggested I apply the Lavender oil to the bottom of my feet. I asked why, and she explained that one can get even more benefit from pure essential oils by applying them to the feet.
The next day I was quite surprised and impressed as to how well my cut looked and also how well I slept!! That was when I began my life long love of essential oils. Most importantly I have learned that all essential oils are NOT created equally. There is a tremendous difference in the quality of essential oils. PLEASE be very careful and know that lower quality oils should not be used the same as Young Living pure essential oils. Young Living is more concerned about the quality and purity then about the "bottom line" dollar.
Since becoming a Young Living Essential Oil Distributor, I have been fortunate to help with harvesting of Lavender at our St. Maries Idaho Farm. This is where I was able to see first hand, how much love and care goes into planting, cultivating, cutting and distilling of Young Living essential oils. The first time I heard the workers singing in the fields, I thought how beautiful that was. I soon found out that one plant in particular really thrives on singing and love, that plant is Melissa. This experience helped me to understand how important it is to be more caring and loving to plants. It really is true; plants too want to be loved.
It is such a relief to understand how aromatherapy and pure essential oils work. I never question that Young Living products are pure, natural, organic, green products. I know that whenever I pick up a bottle of Young Living essential oil, or one of our essential oil enhanced personal care products, like Thieves Foaming Hand Soap to keep my hands extra clean and safe from germs and bacteria, or our nutritional products, such as Inner Defense, which I take whenever I feel the slight bit of change in my health, or our super antioxidant NingXia Red that has so many benefits, one of which strengthens my immune system. Or even our Pet Care line. I know I have the best I could ever find. All natural without a doubt and totally free of chemicals or toxins.
In 1998 I divorced after a 25 year marriage. I was just learning about essential oils then and my husband was not very open to them. It was very difficult healing from the divorce but I am thankful that we did divorce. He’s happier, I’m happier. The divorce gave me the opportunity to “spread my wings” and explore what my interests were, which is healing.
Young Living’s essential oils definitely helped me on that journey. In 2000 I made a big change, I moved from Washington State to Maui!! I told myself if I could not handle being away from my family, then I could return to Washington. I also knew I would find a good job as I have been bookkeeping since 1970. I got a great job, the best one I have ever had at a water treatment company. Another important part of our lives is to be able to have pure water. I stayed on Maui for 5 years and in those years I healed, I bought a house, and I became Reiki Master.
In 2005 I returned to Washington from Maui to help my mother. She had a stroke and it was time for me to be with her. It is wonderful to be near my family again. I feel very blessed to be able to help with my mothers health issues. And because of Young Living products, the quality of her life has become so much better. She reaches for the oils to help with pains and for many other concerns. Her favorite is PanAway and Deep Relief Roll On. By her using our products, she has been able to discontinue some of her medications. How great is that!! And many of her friends have seen the changes and are using the products too and feeling the difference they are making in their lives.
To top it all off, not only is my life blessed with wonderful products and all the awesome people I meet, but having the oils to share with my clients is very rewarding. Being a Reiki Master I enjoy the added benefit of incorporating Young Living oils into my practice. To see the peace and well being they experience is wonderful.
When I do Raindrop Technique on clients it is such a thrill to see and hear how they feel just after the first session. To see the great improvement in my clients is such a blessing.
Of course the added income and having a home business is a major plus too. Life is good and especially great, because I am part of our Young Living family. Having available such quality products has changed my lifestyle physically, mentally and spiritually AND financially. Building my business with Young Living has given me an opportunity to travel, meet new friends, learn, grow, and most of all be my own boss. It is like owning a big company and having all the benefits without all the headaches of employees, taxes, and being tied to someone else’s scheduling. I love having my own home business and doing what I want to when I want to. Having my bookkeeping background helps me to understand and know what expenses are considered to be business expenses and write offs. (This is part of what I teach my team members.)
Whenever I need to have extra time to take my mother to appointments I don’t have to worry or stress over what my employer might be thinking. If I need to reschedule my own appointments to help my mother, than I am able to, without feeling guilty or stressed because of it.
Quality of life is important, and to me part of that quality time is being able to help others, like my mother, family or friends. My passion is helping people, and what better way to do that then in the health arena. With great health, our lives are filled with better times. My life is blessed and I am grateful for the blessings of Young Living and the opportunity to introduce others to Young Living.
When I started using Young Livings Lavender oil, I would not have imagined where I would be today with Young Living and how Young Living essential oils and products have improved my life and those around me. I know I will always have Young Living in my life and will continue sharing with whomever is interested in learning.
