How to Use Young Living Essential Oils

In the chart below you will quickly get an idea of the different methods of application we use for application of Young Living essential oils. Get the chart (PDF)

There are three ways of utilizing the therapeutic qualities of Young Living Essential Oils.

Topically, Internally and Inhalation.

Young Living Essential oils may be applied topically on location with or without a carrier oil.

When taking Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils internally, (oils taken internally should be food grade-read more on quality. Essential oils that are considered food grade may be taken in water, rice mile, in a capsule in food or as a dietary supplement.

You may inhale oils by breathing directly from the bottle, or putting a drop on your hand and breathing in the aroma, or diffusing the oil with a cold air diffuser.

Dilution is not required. Suitable for use on all but the most sensitive skin. Generally safe for younger children. Diffuse up to 1 hour three times per day.
Dilution recommended. Use as directed. Diffuse up to 30 minutes three times daily.
Avoid using on areas of skin that are frequently exposed to prolonged periods of sunlight or UV rays. Avoid direct sunlight for up to 12 hours after applying to skin.
Always dilute before use. Use as directed. Take internally only as directed and only if the oil is listed as a dietary supplement. Diffuse no more than 10 minutes three times daily in a well-ventilated room.
Oil is not recommended to be used in the manner indicated.

My Home Spa Tip

Lavender Bath Salt Recipe

In 1 cup of Epsom Salt or Sea Salt

add

2-3 drops of Lavender oil.

Add 1/4 cup to water in the tub. Soak and enjoy

My Massage Tip

Massage Away Stress

One great way to have stress reduction is massage with a stress reducing essential oil, like lavender or even Young Livings essential oil blend of Peace & Calming. I take these to my masseuse when I get a massage and I feel so relaxed after.

You can apply the oils to the soles of your feet and finish by breathing in the aroma that is left over on your hands. This may help to reduce stress too.

My Recipe

Apricot Wolfberry Oatmeal

  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup frozen (unsweetened) apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots, chopped finely
  • 1/4 cup dried wolfberries
  • 1 tablespoon NingXia Red
  • 1-1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

Bring water and apple juice concentrate to a boil. Add oats, apricots, and wolfberries; simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed. Add NingXia Red and remove from heat and cover; let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Makes 2 servings.

Put a drop of your oil of chose, in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together clockwise, cup your hands ofter your nose and take several deep breaths. Wait a few seconds. Can you feel a change? I sure can when I due this natural therapy

Add 3-5 drops of Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) to quality shampoo. For added benefit add 3-5 drops also, of Lavender oil
